The intersection of nostalgia and the future

KI/KI is the alias of Kiki Wesselo, a Dutch DJ, producer, and label founder born in Harderwijk and raised in Epe. Her relationship with electronic music began at home, listening to trance through her father, and soon transformed into a pursuit of her own. After moving to Amsterdam, she developed a vision that crosses rave memory, club precision, and a highly recognizable emotional energy.

Spielraum as an ignition point

Her breakthrough came in 2018 within the queer environment of Spielraum, at Radion, where her long sets of trance, techno, and acid found a community open to intensity, strangeness, and euphoria. From that core, she built an accelerated reputation in Amsterdam: sets capable of moving from the darkness of acid techno to luminous trance peaks without losing tension. Her identity relies not only on speed, but on a physical way of storytelling: direct cuts, tense kicks, acid synthesizers, and melodies that update 90s nostalgia.

Slash and the new acid fever

In 2022, she created slash, a label conceived to unite treasures of 90s trance and techno with contemporary producers and her own releases. There, she published Leave It To The Vibe and later expanded her language with 5 Mins Of Acid, Don’t Stop, Getting Ready For The Party alongside Storm Mollison, and the club-focused branch of club slash. Her recent catalog also includes What’s A Girl To Do In 25, Losing Control with Marlon Hoffstadt, Put Your Bassline with Armin van Buuren, Can’t Stop Loving You, and 5AM, tracks that reinforce her position between trance revival, high-voltage techno, and contemporary pop-rave.

Five hours for a global scene

KI/KI has taken her sound to Berghain, Bassiani, fabric, Awakenings, Draaimolen, Lowlands, Glastonbury, AMF, Boiler Room, Mixmag Lab, and her extended formats 5 HOURS and KI/KI invites. In 2025, she won the Edison Pop in the Dance category and was promoted as a global ambassador for Spotify EQUAL, consolidating a leap in scale that has not erased her queer roots or her bond with the underground dancefloor. In 2026, she remains one of the most influential artists of the new European rave wave, capable of connecting clubs, festivals, labels, and massive audiences from a clear idea: making trance feel urgent again.
