The Canary Islands dancefloor is the axis from which Luis Groove has built a career spanning over two decades, marked by long-term residencies and a very physical interpretation of dance music. Linked to Tenerife, he has maintained a constant presence in the island's club culture as a resident at Papagayo Tenerife since 2013, in addition to his work at Gekko Club Tenerife and Gravity Electronic Parties, a project he also co-founded. His profile combines the craft of a selector, his work as a producer, and label management through Lowpitch Records, a platform he helped found in 2009 alongside José Armas.

After the after-hours, the dancefloor keeps talking

His journey began to consolidate in the late nineties with a residency at the after-hours club BB+ Tenerife, a period spanning from 1999 to 2009 that is remembered within the local scene for his Sunday sessions. He later expanded his reach to the mainland with a stint in Madrid as a resident at Club 7 between 2009 and 2012. Ibiza played a key role in that expansion: he was a resident at Sankeys Ibiza between 2011 and 2012 with the brand 'U Wanna Escape?', integrated into Steve Lawler's Viva Warriors nights, and he performed at Ushuaïa Beach Club between 2009 and 2010 with 'Fireland On Sundays' alongside Tania Vulcano.

Lowpitch and a catalog of underground groove

As a producer, his name is linked to Lowpitch, where releases such as Eólica and collaborations like Slow Night with José Armas appeared. His discography also connects with labels such as Roush, Too Many Rules, and Overall Music, with titles like Planet Rave, New World, Innate, or Aquarius. In the DJ booth, he has performed at clubs and festivals across Europe, with appearances associated with Altavoz Festival and Tag Club in Venice, MFG Club in Berlin, Cirque Paradis in Paris, The Ditch in London, La Ruche in Lausanne, Veranda Lounge in Ukraine, Off Sónar in Barcelona, and Fabrik in Madrid. In Spain, he has been linked to events such as Eólica, Magma Meeting, Sunblast, and GreenWorld Festival.

Classic house with a contemporary edge

His musical language stems from nineties school house and the techno and tech-house of the early two-thousands, but he articulates it with a current dancefloor sensibility: funky basslines, sharp percussion, deep pulse, minimal details, garage, acid, and disco. That mix explains his ability to open and sustain rooms alongside big-name acts like Ricardo Villalobos, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, or Luciano. Today, Luis Groove occupies a solid position within Canary Islands electronic music: a DJ of continuity, craft, and recognizable groove, more associated with building a scene than with fleeting impact.
