Continuous bass from Amsterdam

Few producers from the new Dutch wave have turned bass into as recognizable a signature within contemporary house as Luuk van Dijk. His music moves between elastic grooves, classic-hitting kicks, and a very physical interpretation of the club: prominent basslines, direct energy, and an old school aesthetic that avoids getting stuck in nostalgia. This identity has positioned him as one of the visible figures of the Amsterdam house and tech house circuit, with a regular presence in venues, festivals, and brands linked to the European dancefloor sound.

Early learning between studio and booth

Born in 1996 in Amsterdam and raised in Hilversum in a house marked by music, he began producing electronic music in 2011, while still a teenager. Before consolidating under his own name, he performed as Don Camacho, a stage in which he won Kunstbende 2013 as best DJ and which opened the door for him to open the main stage of Mysteryland 2014. His training at the Herman Brood Academy helped organize an intuition that was already pointing towards studio work: sample packs, synthesizers, practical learning, and a gear head sensibility that would later be integrated into his sound.

Labels, dancefloors, and Dark Side Of The Sun

His discography grew on heavyweight labels within house and tech house, including Hot Creations, Solid Grooves Records, Eastenderz, VIVa Music, Circus Recordings, Food Music, Roush, Cuttin' Headz, and Hottrax. EPs like Parallax, The Snake, Doesn't Care, or The Message, along with remixes and collaborations, reinforced a reputation supported both by muscular bass productions and high-impact sessions. He has passed through contexts like Paradise, Awakenings, elrow, DGTL, Cocoon, Hyte, Knee Deep, Straf_Werk, Amsterdam Open Air, and Thuishaven, sharing the bill or booth with names like Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, Sven Väth, Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati, Patrick Topping, and Kerri Chandler.

A platform of his own and a global agenda

With Dark Side Of The Sun, he developed his own platform to release personal material and music by like-minded artists, expanding his palette towards a somewhat rougher, deeper, and less predictable house. In 2022, he released his first full-length album, First Contact, conceived as a synthesis of years of sound searching and released from that creative environment. In the following years, he has maintained constant activity with releases like Take Me For A Ride, Get My Luv, Disco Tetris, Good 4 U, Everything, and Moth To A Flame, in addition to radio projects and events under the Get Closer umbrella. His current position is that of a club selector and producer with a Dutch base, international reach, and a recognizable identity: tense grooves, forward-facing bass, and a direct connection to the dancefloor.
