Belgian patios, boombox and Tecktonik fever

When Tecktonik and blog house electro filled school breaks, Marco Strous was already rehearsing choreography in Belgium with a player on his back. Born in London and raised between street dance and improvised dance floors, at fourteen he installed his first sequencer on his mother's laptop and became obsessed with producing: electro, house, dubstep, drum and bass and hip hop, long before approaching a mixer. His first DJ gig came without knowing how to mix; they gave him four months to learn and he came out nervous, but with the certainty that he wanted to make a living from the dance floor.

From Solid Grooves Raw to Dirtybird

Based for years in Bristol, his catalog became rooted in British tech house. In 2018 he landed on Solid Grooves Raw, the platform linked to Michael Bibi, with the EP On It: Off It. Tip Toe, released on No Acetate, garnered support from Michael Bibi, Diplo and Dennis Cruz. LMAO followed on Elrow Music (2019) and Diva on Dirtybird, the label of Claude VonStroke (2020). The Rain Dance EP was released in 2022 by Revival New York. In 2023 Ben Sterling released Slay and Miss Thang on Planet X, and together with the Brazilian Gabe he signed Snogo for Black Book Records, the label of Chris Lake: a house piece with foghorn and UK bass that Lake himself wanted to release.

The relationship with Black Book marks his recent stage: In The Park / Snakes (2024), Monkey Swag, Tootsie Pop and BaBaBa (Hangover) with Chris Lorenzo and Buraka Som Sistema (2025), and Professor X together with Rusko (2026). With OMNOM he released Everyone's Your Friend on Insomniac Records. In the studio he appears as a producer and programmer for Chase It (Mmm Da Da Da) by Bebe Rexha, together with Chris Lake, Sammy Virji and Punctual. His current house hovers around 130-135 bpm, with hip hop-style drums, dry drum machines and sharp vocal samples, a sound designed for the dance floor and for clubs that ask for groove before formula.

No Games Tour and the booth between Europe and America

As a DJ he has left long sessions like the one at COCO in LAB11, in Birmingham, and has taken that same punch to clubs and festivals in Europe and America: Fabric in London, the Warung Festival and D-Edge in Brazil or Lost Beach Club in Ecuador. In 2023 he lived in Manchester; in 2026 he is headlining a North American tour of more than twenty dates —ÎLESONIQ, Splash House, CRSSD, Flash or Academy LA— with booking for America handled by United Talent Agency. He speaks six languages, including Portuguese, Dutch, Afrikaans and Spanish, and keeps alive the curiosity for the drum and bass he absorbed in Bristol.
