Childhood and Musical Roots

Steven Patrik Josefsson Fragogiannis, known worldwide as Steve Angello, was born on November 22, 1982, in Athens, Greece. Born to a Greek father and a Swedish mother, after the tragic death of his father during his childhood, he moved to Stockholm, Sweden, growing up in the Solna area. In this place, he found a true emotional refuge in music. He began his journey as a turntablism DJ at age 12, blending hip-hop, funk, and breakbeats. Sweden's vibrant club culture inevitably drew him toward electronic dance music, marking his definitive and successful transition into the House genre.

Rise in the Industry and Size Records

At the beginning of the 2000s, Angello began to stand out in the demanding European underground scene. In 2003, he founded his own record label, Size Records, turning it over the years into a fundamental engine for Progressive House and Electro House worldwide. One of his first major international hits came with his spectacular remix of Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) by Eurythmics in 2004, followed by countless productions under different aliases such as Who's Who? and Mescal Kid. Together with his partner Axwell, he formed the project Supermode in 2006, releasing the overwhelming hit Tell Me Why, which catapulted him to global stardom and earned him immense recognition.

The Global Phenomenon: Swedish House Mafia

In 2008, Steve made history by joining Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso to form the legendary supergroup Swedish House Mafia. Together they revolutionized the electronic scene worldwide, bringing EDM to the masses with immortal anthems like One (Your Name), Miami 2 Ibiza, Save the World, and the successful Don't You Worry Child, receiving multiple Grammy Award nominations. They were pioneers in bringing electronic music to large stadiums and managed to sell out the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York. After separating temporarily in 2013, the trio reunited surprisingly in 2018 at the Ultra Music Festival, subsequently releasing the acclaimed studio album Paradise Again in 2022 and starring in a spectacular world tour.

Solo Career and Innovation

Parallel to his monumental group success, Angello has built a prolific solo career, always seeking to challenge the boundaries of dance music. In 2016 he released his acclaimed debut album Wild Youth, and subsequently raised his level of sophistication with Human in 2018, a conceptual record widely praised by critics for its great emotional depth, epic tones, and immersive atmospheres. He has been a headliner at the main festivals on the planet such as Tomorrowland and Coachella. Recently, he celebrated the twentieth anniversary of his record label and co-founded in 2024 SUPERHUMAN, an innovative creative hub based in Stockholm, reaffirming his relentless vision for avant-garde art and constant innovation.
