The luminous house that filled Coachella's Sahara

On the Sahara Stage at Coachella, Kaskade's house has functioned for years as a bridge between the club and the major festival: crisp melodies, immersive vocals, and a pop pulse that never lets go of the dancefloor. With the live concept Origin //, presented in 2026, he reordered his catalog and premiered unreleased material over two nights on the bill.

From Gramaphone Records to the Om laboratory

Born in Chicago in 1971 and raised in Northbrook, he was shaped between the vinyl at Gramaphone Records and his first sessions in Utah. In Salt Lake City, he managed the Mechanized shop and, in 1995, held a monthly night at Club Manhattan. The professional leap came in May 2000, when he moved to San Francisco as an A&R assistant at Om Records, at the height of the Bay Area's deep house boom. The alias came from a nature book: a waterfall, the word cascade, and his own spelling. The single What I Say (2001) and the album It's You, It's Me (2003) put him on the radar; In the Moment (2004) took Steppin' Out to the top 10 and Everything to number 1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart.

Ultra, deadmau5 and the stadium circuit

After Love Mysterious (2006) and signing with Ultra Records, Strobelite Seduction (2008) sealed his alliance with deadmau5: Move for Me reached number 1 on Hot Dance Airplay and I Remember became his first hit in the United Kingdom. Dynasty (2010), Fire & Ice (2011), and Atmosphere (2013) followed, albums nominated for the Grammy for dance/electronic, with Atmosphere also nominated for best dance recording. He was voted America's Best DJ in 2011 and 2013, headlined Ultra Music Festival and Electric Daisy Carnival, and, in 2015, returned to Coachella with some of the festival's largest crowds. In Las Vegas, he promoted daytime residencies at Encore Beach Club. In parallel, he co-founded the quartet Late Night Alumni, opened the label Arkade, and developed the more intimate Redux series.

Kx5, Super Bowl and the new Origin // era

In 2022, he reopened the dialogue with deadmau5 as Kx5: the single Escape and the 2023 self-titled album, released on mau5trap, took them to the cover of Billboard and a concert at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum that Pollstar recognized as the largest single-day show headlined by an electronic artist in North America. In February 2024, he became the first DJ to perform during a Super Bowl, in Las Vegas, before more than 123 million viewers; that same year he was named best male artist at the iHeartRadio EDM Awards and played on the starting grid of the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix. The album undux (2025) recovered a more introspective writing style, while Origin // marks his next stage cycle. He remains linked to labels such as Ultra, Warner Bros., and Monstercat, with worldwide booking through United Talent Agency —outside of Europe— and a 2026 alliance with Pacific Music Group for Asia.
