A Brazilian signature for global Afro House

Brazilian percussion, Portuguese vocals, and a very physical reading of the dancefloor have made Maz one of the most visible faces of Afro House made in Brazil. Raised in Rio de Janeiro, the producer has built a language that unites organic groove, melodic tension, and a sensibility closely linked to the sea, surfing, and Carioca culture. After starting to study music production in 2014 and launching his professional project in 2015, he shifted his sound from tech house, deep, and progressive toward a more percussive and emotional territory, where popular Brazilian music dialogues with club electronics.

The turning point of Banho de Folhas

His international projection accelerated with the remix of Banho de Folhas, originally by Luedji Luna, a piece that opened space for the use of Brazilian vocals within global electronics and became one of the best-selling Brazilian electronic music releases on Beatport during 2022 and 2023. From there, Maz reinforced a recognizable identity with collaborations and remixes alongside Antdot, including Todo Homem, Povoada, Corpo e Canção, and Brisa. In parallel, tracks like Nothing On Me, Jolie Fille, and Amana, the latter alongside VXSION, consolidated his presence on Afro House charts and in sets by figures such as Keinemusik, Black Coffee, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Diplo, CamelPhat, Vintage Culture, and Mochakk.

Dawn Patrol as an ecosystem

In 2020, he founded Dawn Patrol, a label and community that later added Antdot as an artistic partner. The project functions as a release platform, party concept, and aesthetic statement: an expansive, luminous Brazilian electronic music connected to the international dancefloor. Dawn Patrol has grown from digital releases to sold-out events in Brazil, international editions, and a special residency at Hï Ibiza in 2026, reinforcing the idea of a Brazilian movement with global ambition.

An increasingly wide circuit

As a DJ, Maz has taken that mix of percussion, vocals, and melody to stages in America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. His journey includes festivals and clubs such as Coachella, Tomorrowland in Belgium and Brazil, EDC, Ultra Europe, Circoloco Ibiza, Rock in Rio, Lollapalooza, Hï Ibiza, Warung Beach Club, Green Valley, and Laroc Club. His current position within the scene is supported both by the results of his productions and by a clear narrative: to export contemporary Brazilian electronic music without diluting its local roots, capable of sounding intimate in a club and monumental at a large festival.
