Patrick Mason's DJ booth functions as a physical extension of the club: selection, dance, fashion, and stage presence move in unison. Based in Berlin and trained in southern Germany, Mason has become one of the most visible figures of the new techno wave linked to the city. His artistic identity is recognized by an openly expansive energy, tense mixes, and a way of performing that returns the role of performer to the DJ without losing focus on the dance floor.

Berghain, Panorama Bar and the leap to SRVD

Before occupying large stages, his relationship with electronic music grew from the dance floor of Berghain and Panorama Bar, spaces that marked his transition from dancing to the booth. That connection also led to SRVD, the project alongside Matthew Edwards, Radio Slave, with which he released material on Rekids. Tracks like Elevate and Nasty established a reading of direct, physical, and vocal techno, designed both for the club and for stage performance.

Techno, house and controlled excess

His sets move mainly between techno and house, with an inclination towards high-intensity rhythms, vocal cuts, recognizable edits, and moments of physical liberation. Mason does not work the booth as a static position: he dances, interacts, builds tension in the room, and constructs narratives of progressive energy. That combination has taken him to festivals and clubs such as Awakenings, DC-10, Amnesia Ibiza, Hï Ibiza, Fuse, Printworks, Tomorrowland, Time Warp, Glitch Festival, and Riverside Festival, in addition to sessions broadcast by platforms such as HÖR, United We Stream, and Arte Concerts.

Fashion, image and queer culture

His musical trajectory is linked to a very defined visual language. Mason studied graphic design, art direction, and fashion design, and his work outside the booth includes collaborations with brands and fashion projects. In 2020, he received external creative control to reinterpret the State Street glasses by Ray-Ban, including the case, packaging, and campaign direction, a collaboration that connected his club aesthetic with the international fashion circuit. As a Black and queer artist raised in Bavaria, his public presence articulates freedom, body, and identity without separating them from club culture.

A household name in the global circuit

Patrick Mason occupies a unique place within international techno today: he does not respond to the model of the invisible selector nor that of the pop frontman, but rather to an intermediate zone where technique, dramaturgy, and the dance floor feed each other. His international schedule, his link with labels like Rekids, and his increasingly transversal profile between music, fashion, and performance position him as a singular figure in the contemporary electronic scene.
