Reinier Zonneveld, born on January 30, 1991, in Alphen aan den Rijn, Netherlands, is one of the most electrifying figures in contemporary Techno. His musical journey began far from the raves, sitting in front of a piano at the age of three. As a classical music prodigy, Zonneveld was composing orchestral pieces before discovering electronic music. His artistic transformation occurred during his university studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where, while pursuing master's degrees in Corporate Finance and Econometrics, he spent his money on synthesizers. An obsessive autodidact, he turned his bedroom into a studio, merging his rigorous classical training with the raw energy of Acid Techno, creating a unique sound that would soon resonate around the world.

Filth on Acid and Chart Domination

After graduating in 2015, he decided to bet everything on music. His early productions on labels like Stil vor Talent and Carl Cox's Intec caught attention, but it was the founding of his own label, Filth on Acid, in 2017, that changed the game. With total creative control, Zonneveld turned Filth on Acid into one of the most influential and best-selling Techno platforms on the planet. His ability to produce dancefloor hits like "Things We Might Have Said" (number 1 on Beatport) proved that he could unite underground darkness with accessible melodies, even collaborating with legends like Moby.

The Master of the Live Set and World Records

What truly sets Zonneveld apart are his live performances. Unlike a traditional DJ set, he performs Live, improvising with drum machines and synthesizers on stage, reacting in real-time to the crowd's energy. This ability culminated in August 2023 at his own festival, Karren Maar, where he set an official Guinness World Record for the longest live electronic music set: an 11-hour and 11-minute solo marathon.
