Biography of Sak Noel
A parody that ended up at number one
In 2011, a Spanglish chorus jumped from a home studio to the top of Europe. Loca People reached number 1 on the UK Official Singles Chart and also topped the charts in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, and the Netherlands, with a second-place finish in Switzerland. Sak Noel became the first Catalan artist and the first Spanish DJ to achieve that British number 1, and the fifth Spanish artist to do so. The track was recorded in La Cellera de Ter and the music video, with a minimal budget, set the nightlife party in the Millennium nightclub in Sils: a parody of binge-drinking tourism in which the author himself acted, filmed, and edited. Ultra Records, Spinnin' Records, and Sony Music licensed the single, which went platinum in Canada and Denmark and gold in Switzerland.
Dance in Catalan and the Moguda nights
Electronic music came from his adolescence. With a Pakistani father, and having turned his maternal surname into his stage name, he formed the project Mak & Sak with Mak and Xana, responsible for some of the first dance tracks in Catalan, including Em poses a 100. In 2003, he launched Moguda, a nightlife company in Catalonia from which he produced, directed videos, and organized parties; starting in 2009, the label supported the Moguda Dance Festival. When Loca People overflowed the local circuit, Moguda closed and gave way to Noel Music.
Miami, Billboard, and the first triad
The remix with Pitbull and Sensato, released as Crazy People, received a nomination for Best Urban Song at the 2012 Latin Grammy Awards. That same year, the original track won the International Dance Music Award for best Latin and reggaeton track at the Winter Music Conference in Miami. The first triad was completed with Paso (The Nini Anthem) and Where? (I Lost My Underwear). Later came Party On My Level and I Am The Law and, in 2014, No Boyfriend, together with Mayra Veronica: it debuted at number 40 on the Billboard Dance/Mix Show Airplay, was released on Ultra, and went viral in the United States. In 2015, Pinga appeared, later nominated for the IDMA for best Latin dance track.
Barnaton, from Los Angeles
In 2016, he founded the label Barnaton and released Trumpets with Salvi and Sean Paul. The single was released on his own label, Mad Decent licensed it for the United States and Canada, and Island Records for the UK and Ireland; the official music video has over two hundred million views. The following decade solidified a Latin house and moombahton sound with wide percussion: Tocame with Salvi and Franklin Dam, Que Rica with Pitbull, Bruk It Down with KSHMR, Demasiado Loca with Lil Jon, and Tembleque with Alexandra Stan, as well as remixes for Jennifer Lopez, Maroon 5, and Zion & Lennox. Based in Los Angeles, he has continued releasing on Barnaton, with tracks like La Bomba and Enamorando, and in 2026 he returned Tocame to the Mad Decent catalog. He maintains long sets in clubs like Marquee in Las Vegas and returns to festivals in Northern Europe.
