Sam Dungate's career is recognized by a very specific quality: the ability to sustain the energy of a dancefloor without losing the sense of the journey. He started DJing in the early nineties, while still a teenager, and from 2000 onwards he linked residencies in different European nightlife hubs. His professional path took him through Essex, Tenerife, and Ayia Napa before consolidating a continuous relationship with Ibiza, an island where he has worked since 2008 and where he was part of the initial team at Linekers Ibiza.

Between the warm-up and the big pool anthem

That accumulated experience allows him to move between different registers: from deep, soul-influenced openings to peak-time stretches built with recognizable house, club novelties, and dance classics. His sets have extended between two and eight hours, a format that demands adaptation, reading the crowd, and a broad repertoire. Throughout his career, he has performed at venues and brands such as Space Ibiza, Pacha, Sankeys, Eden, Ministry of Sound, The Warehouse, Gatecrasher, and Hed Kandi. In an earlier stage, he created Futures History in Ibiza, a platform oriented towards underground house and tech, while at Kisstory parties he expanded the spectrum towards R&B and British garage classics.

Production with club memory

His catalog translates that mix of functionality and old-school references to the studio. His productions feature traces of classic house, garage, and early hardcore and jungle culture, integrated into structures designed for the dancefloor. His works include Break Ya Speakers, Steel Drums, I Know I Know, To The Rhythm, I Can't Take It, and You Got It. He has also collaborated with Jonathan Ulysses on Large and with Grant Collins on Jumpin' and Detroit Playerz. His music has circulated through labels such as Whartone Records, Zulu Records, Ulybug Records, Pukka Up, and Whore House Recordings, covering mainly house and tech house, with forays into deeper and jackin' territories.

A residency that continues to mark the Ibizan calendar

In 2026, he maintains an especially intense presence at O Beach Ibiza, where he appears in the recurring programming of Pool Party, Kisstory, and other days at the venue. In addition, he headlines, along with guests, the Ibiza Anthems nights at Itaca Ibiza, a weekly session dedicated to covering tracks associated with the island's party history. His recording activity also continues: that year he released, together with FENX, a remix of Tour of Thailand for Sam Supplier and Rob Gritton. Rather than relying on a single stylistic label, Dungate occupies the profile of an experienced resident, capable of connecting contemporary house, summer classics, and rave memory with an eminently functional logic for the club.
