Sebastian Ingrosso's signature is recognized in a form of progressive house that combines melodic tension, expansive kick drum hits, and choruses designed for large sound systems. Raised in the musical environment of Stockholm, he absorbed the studio and vinyl culture from a young age, which was close at hand due to the record label activity of his father, founder of Loop Records. That foundation led him to move quickly between remixes, production, and DJ booths, with a close creative relationship with Steve Angello and, later, with Axwell.

Refune as a Swedish laboratory

In 2003, he launched Refune Records, a label that became a recognizable piece of the Swedish house scene of the 2000s. During that period, works such as the Mode Machine EP and tracks alongside Steve Angello like Yo Yo Kidz or Click appeared, in addition to a long network of shared projects and pseudonyms. Refune also functioned as a platform for a generation of producers that connected melody, club punch, and international ambition, with names like Alesso or Otto Knows associated with his orbit.

The Swedish House Mafia triangle

Global dimension arrived upon the consolidation of Swedish House Mafia alongside Axwell and Steve Angello. The trio transformed large-format house into a pop language of massive reach with tracks like One, Miami 2 Ibiza, Save the World, Greyhound, and Don’t You Worry Child. Their Grammy nominations and their impact in venues and festivals like Madison Square Garden, Coachella, Ultra, and Tomorrowland set a benchmark for the EDM generation of the early 2010s. After the group's hiatus, Ingrosso reinforced the Axwell Λ Ingrosso project alongside Axwell, presented at Governors Ball and consolidated with More Than You Know, an album and single that took their melodic approach into even more vocal and radio-friendly territory.

A catalog that keeps moving

In parallel, his individual career maintains central pieces of the modern festival repertoire: Calling (Lose My Mind) with Alesso and Ryan Tedder, Reload with Tommy Trash and John Martin, Dark River, or Ride It. The reunion of Swedish House Mafia at Ultra Miami 2018 and the album Paradise Again in 2022 brought the trio back to the center of the scene, also through collaborations with The Weeknd. In his recent phase, Ingrosso has continued to activate his own material and collaborations with Skip, Flood, No Enemies, A New Day alongside Céline Dion, and Peace of Flood, positioning himself between the nostalgia of the EDM golden age and a current reading of large-scale melodic house.
