The audiovisual culmination of the USB002 tour
The contemporary electronic music ecosystem increasingly demands direct access to the internal dynamics of top-tier artists. In line with this institutional openness, British producer Fred again.. has strengthened his artistic narrative with the recent premiere of Behind The Sound. This documentary piece, approximately twenty minutes long, was conceived and directed by the Mexican filmmaker and content creator Gawx, who meticulously and with aesthetic rigor documents the intense week leading up to the final conclusion of the acclaimed USB002 world tour.
The film is structurally built around the final date of this monumental tour, which took place on December 12, 2025, at the Expo Santa Fe venue in Mexico City. Throughout the footage, Gawx's camera offers an immersive and unfiltered perspective of the inner workings of a large-scale electronic production. Instead of focusing exclusively on the euphoria of the live show and high BPMs, the director intelligently shifts the focus toward logistical processes, exhaustive sound synthesis rehearsals, acoustic tests in massive venues, and critical pre-production meetings. The USB002 tour, which spanned a total of twenty-one shows strategically distributed across ten major cities globally, finds its most intimate retrospective testament in this audiovisual document.
The creative ecosystem behind the cameras
Far from being a mere standardized promotional product, Behind The Sound stands as an auteur work thanks to the comprehensive vision of Gawx, who takes on the demanding roles of screenwriter, lead director, and editor. The project also has the backing of the production company LOOSE and additional cinematography support from creators Theo and Charlie. During their stay in the Mexican capital, the film crew accompanied both Fred again..'s technical team and the prominent local musical collective Latin Mafia without interruption. The result is a faithful portrait of the cultural synergy, exchange of ideas, and camaraderie that was forged in the days leading up to an event of such magnitude.
The sound section of the short film deserves a detailed analysis for its profound eclecticism and maturity. The soundtrack is not limited to being a vehicle for self-promotion of the British producer's catalog, but rather expands its curatorial universe by incorporating compositions from key figures in the electronic and sound experimentation circuit, among which stand out:
- Brian Eno
- Floating Points
- Moses Sumney
- Latin Mafia
In an exercise of musical virtuosity, these contemporary textures and ambient landscapes intertwine harmoniously with works by masters of classical music such as Bach, Haydn, Grieg, Mendelssohn, and Wagner, endowing the footage with exceptional cinematic solemnity.
What an honor that the great Gawx made this film about the time we spent in Mexico. He followed the guys from Latin Mafia and me for a week and made this incredible document of that moment. I am very happy that it exists.

Unprecedented transparency in the live industry
The release of Behind The Sound should not be interpreted as an isolated event within Fred again..'s communication strategy; on the contrary, it consolidates a policy of operational transparency that is almost unprecedented in the high spheres of clubbing and massive festivals. Over the last few months, the producer has provided his fan base with an unheard-of amount of archival material and educational resources. Among these initiatives, the publication of an uninterrupted 108-hour-long footage that compiles all the tour performances in their entirety stands out, as well as a previous fly-on-the-wall style documentary directed by Derrick Gee, which portrayed twenty-four hours of his time in the city of Vancouver.
In addition to the extensive offering of audiovisual pieces, the artist's institutional openness has reached the extreme of publicly sharing folders full of creative resources, audio stems, production files, and the original visuals used on the LED panels of his shows. This democratization of technical and visual content not only reaffirms Fred again..'s strong organic connection with his audience, but also sets a fundamental precedent on how major exponents of electronic music can blur the historical barrier between the studio creator, the execution of the work, and the final spectator.
