The History of Tresor: The Underground Vault That Defined Techno in Berlin

We travel to the bowels of Berlin to discover the history of Tresor, the legendary underground vault that became the heart of techno after the fall of the wall. We explore how industrial warehouses and ruins of a wounded city were transformed into authentic refuges of collective freedom, taking over from the pioneer club UFO to forge European clubbing culture. We review its evolution from its beginnings in 1991, when industrial techno rumbled underground and house dominated the Globus room, to the creation of its influential record label. In addition, we relive its historic rebirth in 2007 inside an old power plant in Berlin Mitte, proving that this legendary temple is an unquenchable institution that continues to dictate the pulse of global electronic music.
