Barakaldo as a starting point

Crusy is the artistic project of Mikel Ortega Huerga, a Spanish DJ and producer born in Barakaldo, Bizkaia, and artistically established in Madrid. His relationship with electronic music began in 2009, when he discovered the impact of tracks like Sputnik by D.O.N.S. and began to take an interest in hard dance before finding a more personal path in house and tech house. That evolution led him to his first residency, learning the ropes in small clubs and, over time, to a projection that connected the Spanish scene with international circuits.

From club sound to the Toolroom language

His music is built for the dancefloor: elastic basslines, clear percussion, memorable vocals, Latin energy, and a direct sense of groove. Crusy works within contemporary house with an identity that mixes tech house, Latin house, afro elements, and accessible melodies without losing club pressure. After a previous stage linked to labels such as Arcadia, Kryteria, Sosumi, SIZE, Confession, and Revealed, he redefined his direction towards a more underground and functional sound, designed for long sets and high-impact moments.

Selecta, collaborations, and global leap

The turning point came in 2022 with Selecta, released on Toolroom Trax and supported by artists such as Carl Cox, Dom Dolla, Nic Fanciulli, and John Summit. Later came tracks like Karma, El Beso with Dombresky, Attracted, Unknown, Bullerengue with Low Steppa, Fallin’, Things, KLK with Hugel, Casablanca, Kiki, and The Night Train with David Penn and Kadoc. His catalog has been consolidated on labels such as Toolroom, Defected, Knee Deep In Sound, Spinnin’ Deep, and Shen, with a constant presence on DJ charts and electronic music platform rankings.

Ibiza, tours, and international present

Crusy has taken his sound to clubs and cities such as Madrid, Ibiza, London, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Montreal, Toronto, Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Turin, and Bali. His recent calendar includes performances at Hï Ibiza, Chinois Ibiza, Amnesia Ibiza, Ushuaïa Ibiza, Fabrik Madrid, Studio 338, and events linked to Toolroom, The Masquerade by Claptone, and Make The Girls Dance by Hugel. In 2024 he was placed among the most prominent producers in the world and in 2025 he reinforced his reach with more than fifty international dates, high-profile collaborations, and an official remix of Love Island by Fatboy Slim. His current moment presents him as one of the Spanish names with the greatest projection within global house.
