Diamanté Anthony Blackmon, born in Washington D.C. and raised in Guatemala for much of his childhood, began his journey in the electronic music industry under the iconic alias Carnage. During this early stage, he established himself as one of the most influential figures in EDM, trap, and hardstyle, standing out for his explosive performances at massive festivals such as Tomorrowland, Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), and Ultra Music Festival. His prodigious ability to fuse the punchiness of dance music with the urban vibes of hip-hop led him to collaborate with artists of the stature of Migos, Mac Miller, and Lil Uzi Vert. Throughout this era, he released music through highly prestigious international labels such as Spinnin' Records or his own brand Heavyweight Records, achieving enormous commercial success and forging an unconditional legion of followers globally.

The Rebirth as Gordo and the Sound Shift

Despite the resounding and prolonged massive success, Blackmon felt a deep need to reconnect with his Latin roots and explore new sonic horizons to revitalize his creativity. His brilliant prowess in the recording studio became evident when he became one of the main producers of the acclaimed and surprising house album by rapper Drake, titled 'Honestly, Nevermind', which definitively consolidated his prestige as a transversal producer and world-class visionary.

Nowadays, Gordo has established himself with absolute firmness as one of the most sought-after, innovative, and respected artists in the vibrant international house and tech house circuit. His distinctive style in the booth, which masterfully combines the unquenchable energy of his beginnings with sophisticated rhythms, deep basslines, and percussion with a marked tribal and Latin character, has secured him coveted residencies at iconic clubs like Hï Ibiza and memorable performances at legendary brands of club culture like Circoloco.
