From a frustrated sports career to the studio

Before dedicating himself fully to music, Joshwa had a stint linked to football, with trials at English clubs and an experience in Chile that ended up reinforcing his decision to focus on production and the DJ booth. That transition marked a trajectory built from self-taught studio work, the British underground circuit, and a progressive international expansion. From that starting point, his name began to circulate more strongly thanks to remixes, edits, and releases that gained support among top-tier DJs.

Hot Creations, Repopulate Mars and the international leap

His catalog has passed through key house and tech house labels such as Hot Creations, Repopulate Mars, Spinnin' Deep, Solotoko, Cr2 Records, Glasgow Underground, Insomniac Records, Black Book Records, and Hellbent Records. His collaboration with Lee Foss on My Humps especially boosted his profile within the international circuit, while works like Bass Go Boom, Magalenha, Lost In Music, Freaks, and Out of My Mind have reinforced an identity based on hard-hitting grooves, immediate vocal hooks, and production designed for impact in the booth.

A sound between nostalgia, groove and club pressure

Joshwa often works with recognizable references, vocals inherited from pop culture, Latin or Brazilian nods, and a very functional club aesthetic. No Bad Fridays and a transatlantic agenda

In 2024, he launched No Bad Fridays, his own label conceived as a space for creative freedom to release music that is part of his sets and to make room for new producers. In parallel, his schedule has extended across the UK, Europe, and North America, with performances at clubs, festivals, and brands such as elrow, Amnesia Ibiza, Beyond Wonderland, Day Trip, Splash House, and Brooklyn Mirage. Managed within the Red Light Management environment and with international booking shared between structures like UTA and NGE, Joshwa currently occupies a solid position within the new generation of British producers capable of translating the underground language of house to a global scale.
