Lil Texas' signature is recognized by an extreme and very concrete idea: turning American hardcore into a spectacle of speed, rave humor, and distorted kicks. Born in Dallas and based in Los Angeles, Samuel Patrick Barry went through a background marked by jazz, classical music, and Berklee before channeling his energy into high-impact electronic music. After his early stages in the M|O|D and Donky Pitch environment, the project mutated from club, trap, and bass towards a much more radical language, built around hardcore, gabber, frenchcore, and uptempo.

Texcore as a scene statement

The turning point came with I Am Excited, the track that opened Lil Texas' hard dance phase and established the imagery of Texcore: music at 200 BPM or more, Texan aesthetics filtered through American rave culture, punk attitude, and an explicit desire to give a voice to hardcore made in the United States. Since then, his releases have appeared on labels linked to the hardest circuit, including Masters Of Hardcore, Barong Family, Welcome Records, Afterlife Recordings, and his own Texcore environment. In albums like Faster, TOO FAST, and Need For Speed, he configured a discography of aggressive kicks, melodies pushed to the limit, and collaborations with Kayzo, Dorian Electra, Deadly Guns, Danny L Harle, Nitti Gritti, Vieze Asbak, Dr. Peacock, and other names in extreme electronic music.

From the American underground to the big stages

Lil Texas' presence in the booth has become a central part of his identity. His sets usually start in fast territory and escalate towards increasingly violent tempos, with a physical, provocative, and highly recognizable stage presence. He has performed at festivals and platforms such as EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, Defqon.1, Dominator, Masters of Hardcore, and Basscon Wasteland, connecting the imagery of European hardcore with the language of American EDM. He has also brought his universe into unexpected contexts: Lady Gaga and Elton John turned to his hardcore approach for a remix of Sine From Above, and his music entered the orbit of fashion by signing the sound for the Rick Owens Spring/Summer 2023 menswear show in Paris.

Speed as a signature

In parallel to Lil Texas, the alias Diamond Dallas Tex allows him to explore a more techno and industrial reading without abandoning the bodily tension that defines his work. His current position combines international tours, a strong digital community, and an outsider image that has managed to connect with fans of European hardcore, American EDM, and the new generations of hard dance. More than just a brand of speed, Lil Texas functions as a meeting point for those seeking the most excessive, physical, and theatrical side of contemporary electronic music.
