His DJing style avoids the easy hit and works the dancefloor like a sustained current: layers of percussion, African groove, hypnotic pressure, and a long-form construction designed to keep the body moving for hours. Born in Amsterdam with Surinamese roots, he has turned that cultural connection into a recognizable artistic identity within European techno.

Eerste Communie as community and method

His name is inseparably linked to Eerste Communie, the collective and event series he co-founded in Amsterdam and for which he is a resident. The project was born around a specific idea of the dancefloor: consistent, fast, inclusive techno that does not rely on big names as a draw. From underground-spirited parties to gatherings in international clubs and cities, Eerste Communie has functioned as a space of trust, sound, and community, with programming oriented toward the continuity of the journey rather than a headliner format.

From the Olympic court to layered mixing

Before establishing himself as an international DJ, Jessey Anthony Voorn had a high-level career in Dutch basketball and represented the Netherlands in 3x3 basketball at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. That physical discipline is transferred to his sets: patient selection, room reading, and a mixing technique based on progressive tension and multiple simultaneous layers. His main focus is DJing, not conventional production; that is why his public catalog is better understood through podcasts, sessions, curations, and long-form recordings than through a classic discography.

NDYUKA, global booths, and a voice of his own

The NDYUKA series on SoundCloud reinforces the narrative dimension of his work, with titles and references that connect to the history of the Maroons of Suriname and Afro-descendant memory. He has also signed a curation for Float Records with Curated by MARRØN, a project that brought together unreleased material from techno scene producers. In the booth, his name has been associated with spaces and platforms such as Berghain, FOLD, Awakenings, Boiler Room x Glitch Festival, and Stone Techno, where his 2025 set for ARTE Concert solidified his position among the most visible figures in current hypnotic and percussive techno.
