Hanoverian groove with global reach

The warm glow of house with funk roots is the signature that has turned Mousse T. into a unique figure in European club music. Formed between keyboards, studios, and DJ booths, he began to make his way in the late eighties and early nineties in the Hannover scene, after passing through the band Fun Key B and building his own production environment. From there, he developed a recognizable language: club rhythms with elastic bass, characterful vocals, soul arrangements, disco flashes, and a very pop reading of the melodic hook.

Peppermint Jam as a style statement

Together with Errol Rennalls, he launched Peppermint Jam Records, a Hannover label that since 1994 has functioned as a laboratory for soulful house, melodic acid jazz, and dance music with an international vocation. The platform consolidated his profile as a producer, remixer, and author, and gave way to an aesthetic of his own that he has associated for years with the Funky Shizzle concept. His global leap came in the second half of the nineties with "Horny '98," alongside Hot 'N' Juicy, a track that overflowed the club circuit and entered pop culture. Shortly after, he co-wrote and produced "Sex Bomb" for Tom Jones, one of the great hits of the album Reload and one of the collaborations that best summarizes his ability to connect soul tradition, pop spectacle, and the dance floor.

From remix to the big stage

His catalog has expanded with albums such as Gourmet De Funk, All Nite Madness, and Where Is the Love, in addition to productions and remixes linked to names like Michael Jackson, Simply Red, Randy Crawford, Ziggy Marley, Roy Ayers, Byron Stingily, Andreya Triana, Bootsy Collins, and Quincy Jones. That breadth has given him recognition outside the electronic niche, with a Grammy nomination and an Ivor Novello Award, without distancing him from club culture. He has also worked for film and television, was a judge on Deutschland sucht den Superstar, and participated in the Italian hit "Apri tutte le porte," performed by Gianni Morandi at Sanremo 2022.

The dance floor as a natural territory

In the booth, he maintains a broad musical reading, from disco house to soulful house, with sets designed to sustain energy, songs, and groove. His presence in circuits such as Glitterbox, Hï Ibiza, Amnesia Ibiza, Pacha Ibiza, Defected Croatia, Creamfields, Rex Club Paris, Cavo Paradiso, Tomorrowland, and Montreux Jazz Festival confirms an uncommon relevance for a producer associated with anthems of several generations. Mousse T. occupies a transversal position today: a reference veteran for the history of German house, author of global pop classics, and an active selector within the contemporary international scene.
