Familiar voices over Caribbean groove

Shermanology is the project of siblings Andy Sherman and Dorothy Sherman, a Dutch-Caribbean duo born in Amsterdam and raised amidst the musical culture of Curaçao. Their story is marked by a direct artistic heritage: they are the children of Tony Sherman, a soul and R&B figure, and grew up around the family legacy of the Sherman Brothers. That origin explains a central trait of their identity: the dance floor is understood not just as rhythm, but as a space for voice, memory, funk, and communal energy.

The soultec pulse of Andy and Dorothy

The duo combines Andy's experience as a producer, MC, and DJ, linked to UK garage and the Dutch underground circuit, with the vocal power of Dorothy, trained in the tradition of gospel, R&B, and soul. Their sound signature, described as soultec, fuses house, tech house, elastic bass grooves, hot percussion, and recognizable vocal writing. After an initial phase closer to large-format EDM, with collaborations like Can’t Stop Me alongside Afrojack, Shermanology reoriented their language toward a more organic, direct, and roots-filled house.

From independent anthem to D’EAUPE

The turning point came with Move Out Of My Way alongside Dennis Quin and was consolidated with releases on labels such as Rawthentic, Hot Creations, Defected, Cuttin’ Headz, Sola, and their own platform D’EAUPE, founded in 2021. Tracks like Bon Bini, Boyz N Da Club, Souljack, It’s A Killa with FISHER, Sometimes, Motown Philly with Boyz II Men, Rain with Todd Edwards and Rudimental, Hotter with Green Velvet, Girl On The Beat, and That’s My Ish showcase a discography that connects club culture, vocal roots, and effectiveness for large systems.

A global identity of house with soul

Live, Shermanology functions as more than just a DJ set: the interaction between the booth, microphone, and singing turns their performances into an extension of their family DNA. Their international expansion includes stages and brands such as Kappa Futur Festival, Cuttin Headz, LaLaLand Festival, Beat-Herder, The Town in Rio de Janeiro, Elrow in Ibiza and New York, Paradise, Dirtybird, and the Yuma Stage at Coachella 2025. In the current scene, Andy and Dorothy occupy a unique place: they represent a warm, vocal, and physical house, capable of engaging with 90s nostalgia without losing contemporary impact.
