Vallecas, computer science and Madrid techno culture

Nuke is the stage name of Rodrigo Bermejo de Lucas, a Spanish DJ, producer, promoter, and artistic director born in Vallecas, Madrid. His entry into electronic music began in 1997, while he was studying computer engineering and producing in a small home studio. Before establishing himself as a central figure in national techno, he cut his teeth in raves, underground parties, and small-format DJ booths, where he developed a direct, dynamic, and dancefloor-oriented mix.

CODE, the brand that changed his scale

In 2002, he became a resident at Surface in Groove Dance Club in Madrid, sharing the booth with Pelacha. A year later, he started the Cultura Techno program alongside César Almena and launched CODE, a project born in 2003 within the Grupo Kapital environment. Its first parties were held at Paladium, in Coslada, and in 2004 the session moved to Fabrik Madrid, where it grew to become one of the most recognizable techno brands in Spain. Nuke is a resident, co-founder, booker, and director of the brand.

Hard groove, precision, and catalog

His sound is based on techno, hardgroove, raw/deep/hypnotic lines, and peak time energy, with a broad reading that can range from muscular groove to dark and punchy atmospheres. His sets stand out for their technical precision, intensity progression, and knowledge of club electronics. As a producer, he has released on Hardgroove, Harthouse, Kombination Research, MB Elektronics, Tronic, Respekt, Odd Recordings, Naked Lunch, We Are The Brave, Codex Recordings, and Illegal Alien Records. He has also managed Code Records and Reset Music.

From Fabrik to the international circuit

His discography combines early works with César Almena, material under the alias Kontra, and recent releases such as Legal Vacuum EP, Flying Under The Radar EP, Murketch, Steel Runner, Agibilibus EP, Psycho Dancer EP, and Ava. Live, he has taken his sound to festivals and clubs such as Monegros, Aquasella, Dreambeach, Medusa, Electrosonic, Tresor Berlin, Privilege Ibiza, Industrial Copera, Barraca Valencia, Pacha Barcelona, E1 London, Watergate Berlin, and Amnesia Ibiza. Represented by Analog Agency, Nuke maintains a unique position within Spanish techno: booth artist, active producer, and architect of one of Madrid's most enduring club platforms.
