Stuttgart, shadow and warehouse pulse

SHDW is the alias of Marco Bläsi, a German DJ, producer, and curator originally from Stuttgart. From the beginning, his name has been linked to a vision of techno that is direct, physical, and deeply connected to the club culture of southern Germany. In 2014, he started the From Another Mind adventure alongside Luigi Urban, known as Obscure Shape, first as a party series and later as a record label. That platform brought Stuttgart to a prominent place within European techno and turned the SHDW & Obscure Shape project into one of the most recognizable duos of their generation.

From From Another Mind to a language of his own

For nearly a decade, SHDW built a catalog marked by tension, fast percussion, rave memory, and melodic drama. Releases such as Nachtblende, Wenn Die Masken Fallen, Die Weiße Rose, Himmel Und Erde EP, Der Sturm, Der Weg Des Kriegers, Poetic Justice, Vergessene Welt, and Basic Instinct consolidated an aesthetic that could sound hypnotic, raw, and emotional all at once. His records appeared on platforms such as From Another Mind, Rekids, Soma, BPitch, and Mutual Rytm, with an evolution that moved from peak-time techno toward a more functional, rhythmic, and timeless style of writing.

Mutual Rytm as a statement of principles

In 2022, SHDW founded and began curating Mutual Rytm, a label that became the axis of his new chapter. The brand brings together techno with character, dancefloor orientation, classic groove, hardgroove, and a minimalist aesthetic line that prioritizes energy and sound duration over immediate trends. With compilations like Federation Of Rytm and references from artists such as Lars Huismann, Alarico, Chlär, Chontane, Deetron, Lewis Fautzi, or Regent, the label has reinforced SHDW's role as a selector, editor, and community builder.

A new solo stage

After closing the chapter shared with Obscure Shape in 2023, SHDW opened a solo phase in 2024 focused on an essential idea: music, turntables, mixer, and a reading of the dancefloor without artifice. His presence has extended across clubs and festivals such as Awakenings, Berghain, Soenda Festival, Hï Ibiza, Fabrik, Wire Festival, Glitch Festival, Love Family Park, and various Mutual Rytm showcases. In the booth, he defends high-voltage techno with roots in acid, rave, EBM, and the most robust Detroit, maintaining a solid position as one of the key names in the European techno resurgence.
